structures that have adopted green roof applications.

How much does a green roof cost?
A living roof is expensive. The cost can range from 2 to 4 times the expense of a normal roof depending on the type of system implementation.

How do you estimate a green roof project?
Our estimation process will include all components of the system, plants, logistics, warranties and maintenance for the first year. Ongoing maintenance is recommended for a successful implementation, of course.

Can I put a green roof on my existing roof?
Only a formal design inspection by a qualified engineer can determine whether your home or building can support living architecture on the roof. Our service can provide a complete assessment to answer any structural questions.

How do you work with Roofing Contractors? With Architects? With General Contractor’s?
We are regularly partnering or subcontracted by significant Roofing and Construction contractors. Chances are we have worked with your team before. View our projects page for some of our relationships.

What if there is a leak?
Intrinsic Landscaping works closely with Roofing contractors to make sure your roofing system will maintain its waterproofing. A green roof will actually reduce the chances of leakage because the pressure of moisture is reduced thru the absorption in the growing medium. This slows the contact of water in heavy precipitation with the roofing underlayment. Water is retained away from the roofing application and managed in the drainage layer of the green roof system. Our designer can discuss remedies should any portion of your roof system fail. A green roof will not prevent any repair option.

How do I maintain my green roof?
A green roof is a living environment that grows and changes over time. It will invite insects and other natural inhabitants. Birds seek quiet and safe havens in the stark city landscape. Our maintenance programs are meant to ensure that this happens.
