Types of Green Roof Systems:

Extensive green roofs: lightweight implementations using shallow growing mediums of as little as 2 inches

Semi –Intensive: growing mediums support a broader range of plant types in soils 4 to 8 inches
 

Intensive Implementations with soil depths of 8” or more supporting shrubs, bushes and trees

Sloped: roof systems that hold soil on inclined roofs		Trays: modular seeded or pre planted components that provide instant green implementations

Pre-Vegetated Mat- A field grown material that is preplanted with roof hardy plants. It is installed already green for a green roof that is immediately lush. Generally the Pre Vegetated Mat falls under an Extensive green roof system.

Hydro-seeding- For Green roof implementations that do not require immediate vegetation, this very economical option provides seeding of the growing media that will mature in 12 months to 3 yrs depending on the zone and climate conditions. (See right)
